What is Kinder lernen Deutsch?
Kinder lernen deutsch is a once-a-week, after-school program that introduces
children to beginning German language and culture through games,
songs, art projects, and fun
Who are the learners and teachers for Kinder lernen Deutsch?
The learners are elementary-school
children of VU faculty and staff, Parkview Elementary
school and Northview Elementary School. The teachers are
VU students who are studying German, Elementary Education,
or both. Teachers receive summer training in FLES methods
(Foreign Languages in the Elementary School) and are supervised
by a VU faculty member.
Where do classes take place?
Classes take place at the Kade-Duesenberg
German House and Cultural Center (822 Mound Street in Valparaiso).
