Deposit and Account Payments

Upon notification of acceptance into the program a $500 deposit is required within 30 days to secure enrollment. The balance of the tuition, refundable fees (the security deposit) and optional fees are invoiced by email, and are due in full in the May. Bank changes incurred are the responsibility of the student/parent. Valparaiso University will credit only the actual payment amount in US dollars received to the University bank. Full payments are due upon enrollment for students who apply after May.

Paying for SGLI is made easy for students and families. Please read through the following instructions in order to place a deposit and/or payment for SGLI.

  1. Open DataVU in a separate tab/window
  2. Click on the Parent/Guest tab
  3. Choose between: Make an ACH Payment (from checking or savings) OR Make a Credit Card Payment
  4. If making an ACH payment, please choose the option for one-time payment

The balance of the tuition, refundable fees and optional expenses are due by May or upon enrollment if enrolling after May. Full payments must be received on time to guarantee enrollment status. All payments less $500 are refundable until April 26. Cancellation after April 26 to May 31 results in a 25% cancellation fee of the total tuition dollars due. There are no refunds whatsoever for cancellation after May 31 or after the program commences, for any reason. There is no adjustment in tuition for late arrivals or early departures. All cancellations must be in writing.

Damage/Key Security Deposit

The security deposit is refundable (less charges, if any) for lost keys/ID cards, damage to room, furnishings, common areas, outstanding incidental expenses and rooms left unclean. Parents are responsible for any charges incurred beyond the deposit. Refunds are forwarded after a full accounting is received by the University Finance Office, usually by mid September.

International Students

Students and their families are responsible for obtaining any required Visas. Due to the brief duration of the program, international students should obtain a short stay tourist visa (not a student visa), from the American Embassy or Consulate in their home country. Students should allow at least six weeks for the processing of immigration documents.
