Global Learning at Valpo

Preparing Tomorrow's Leaders

In today’s globalized world, you must understand the value of global learning as you prepare to become one of tomorrow’s leaders. Exploring the language, economics, diversity, politics, and cultures of other nations provides perspectives that will help you thrive in a global economy.

International education at Valpo reflects the institution’s mission to “prepare students to lead and serve in both church and society.” To accomplish this, a multitude of rich international programs, organizations, activities, and other resources exist across campus for students, faculty, and staff. Global learning has also been integrated into the curriculum of each individual college, ensuring that every Valpo student has the opportunity to gain international perspectives.

The culmination of these global learning efforts has earned worldwide accolades. Valpo was recognized for the freshman CORE program in 2007 and awarded the 2008 Senator Paul Simon Award for Campus Internationalization by NAFSA-Association of International Educators, the world’s largest professional organization dedicated to global learning. These prestigious awards distinguish Valparaiso University as a model for other institutions of higher education in preparing graduates with strong cross-cultural skills and global awareness.
