- ICP student enhances graduate studies with internships
- International Commerce & Policy student Jaichittra Thirumangaram Prasanna is continuing to achieve exciting internships to build on to her academic experience.
While working with the student organization Students In Free Enterprise, Thirumangaram Prasanna met with a representative of rTrail (http://www.rtrail.com/), who offered her an opportunity that led to becoming a project manager. In the summer of 2009, Thirumangaram Prasanna helped conduct marketing research, speaking to student and community members about public transportation in Valparaiso. As a result of her research, the city bus system increased its runs to the Dune Park South Shore Station.
In the spring of 2010, Thirumangaram Prasanna will be transferring her newfound expertise in the marketing field to politics when she begins an internship for at the state capitol working for House Minority, after graduating in December. Thirumangaram Prasanna credits her graduate studies with helping her expand her knowledge of economics and business into the areas of government and politics, saying that the two fields are completely intertwined.
