2001
- Jason Stoehr attended the Historic Deerfield Summer Fellowship program in 2001 on a full scholarship. As a Summer Fellow, he participated in an intensive early American history program at Historic Deerfield, Inc., Deerfield, Massachusetts.
- Vanessa Burrows was a 2001-2002 Rotary Foundation Scholar at Queen's University in Belfast Northern Ireland. She studied history and international relations and graduated from American University Law School.
- Vanessa Peterson attended graduate school at the College of St Catherine in St. Paul, MN., where she completed a Master's in Library and Information Science..
- Andrew Malone graduated from the University of Michigan Law School. He is employed in Milwaukee, WI.
- Nancy Koopman, is teaching social studies and basic computing at Lake County Lutheran High School in Hartland, Wisconsin.
- Josh Honn is completing a Master's program in American Studies at Lehigh University with a
concentration in Culture and Media. He received a full scholarship and tuition waiver. He continues to work on his book about the Vieques protest movement against the presence of the US Navy in Puerto Rico.
- Betsy Schroeder completed a Master's Degree in Early American History at Lehigh University on a full tuition waiver.
- Dan Trapp is in a management training program with Crown Worldwide, an international relocation
company. He will be posted in Germany when his training is completed.
- Katy Rimkus has a full-time high school teaching position in Illinois.
2000
- Tim Cash '00 completed a master's degree in Irish history in the prestigious Boston College program.
- Liz Wuerffel '00 was a Peace Corps volunteer working with environmental programs and women's issues in Kazakhstan. Currently she is an instructor at VU.
- Shannon Ryan '00 is working on a Master's degree in anthropology at the University of Kansas.
- Christopher Novak '00 is attending the John Marshall School of Law in Chicago.
- Martin Lohrmann '00 attends a Lutheran seminary in Dubuque, Iowa.
- Mike Huner '00 received a Fulbright award to support eleven months of archival research in Asunción Paraguay. He is studying a little known group of Paraguayan intellectuals who studied abroad in the 1860s and who returned to create a national discourse following the War of the Triple Alliance. He has written an article on the subject that appeared in the Paraguayan national newspaper is enrolled in the University of North Carolina's Ph.D. program in Latin American History.
- Lana Muck '00 received a Fulbright award to attend the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada for one year where she studied First Nations' women's participation in the creation of the new autonomous territory of Nunavut. She works in the U.S. State Department.
- Nathan Baylor '00 works in information technology.
- Megan Modjeski '00 is a Paralegal/ Legal Assistant at the Chicago office of Baker & McKenzie, a firm that handles international transfers and offers relocation services for executives. She handles petitions for visas for US companies who wish to bring in foreign workers. She is hoping to begin graduate school in the fall of 2003.
- Ryan Murray '00 received a Freeman grant to conduct research in China with Professor Zhimin Lin as his supervisor. Using surveys and interviews, he is studying Chinese nationalism and the image of the United States disseminated through the Chinese press. While in China, Ryan has traveled extensively, including a particularly memorable trip to Lin Yutang's hometown. He has been accepted into the MA program in Modern Chinese Studies at Oxford University in England.
- Jessica Chapman is in the Ph.D. program in history at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
- Jaclyn Jacobs completed law school at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
- Daniel Hittle completed a Master's degree in social science at the University of Chicago. He is attending the University of Maryland and is pursuing a graduate degree in ancient history.
