Requirements

Education:

High School Diploma; associates degree or higher strongly preferred.

Experience/Skills:

  • Minimum of one-year experience as receptionist or frontline client service representative
  • Familiarity with telephone switchboard and voice mail preferred
  • Must possess superior diplomatic customer service assistance skills
  • Greet and direct visitors to the building
  • Experience working in a team-oriented project environment
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills which include Microsoft Office, and other programs
  • Strong analytical skills and creative problem solving abilities and initiative

Job Summary:

The University Operator will serve as the primary public operator and receptionist for the University and as such as a key ambassador for Valpo. Answer the main University telephone number and internal calls to Operator and direct calls or provide information as appropriate. Provide support to the IT staff members. Prepare edit, and review forms and documents for the department. (75 percent of time)

Provide support to OneCard office. Responsibilities include: taking ID pictures, producing ID cards, issuing and collecting temporary and replacement ID cards; assisting card holders with account balances, transaction information, and accessing control plans; collecting replacement card fees, Crusader Cash payments, and depositing funds with the Finance Office.(25 percent of time)
