Job Summary: | Valparaiso University School of Law, founded in 1879, is located in Valparaiso, Indiana, a city of 40,000 in northwest Indiana, located 60 miles from Chicago. The School of Law at Valparaiso University offers the traditional three-year, full-time JD program, accelerated and part-time JD programs, a Master of Laws degree for international lawyers, and dual degree JD/Masters programs, including a JD/MBA. The Assistant Director of Admissions at the School of Law is an integral member of the enrollment management team which is charged with recruiting and yielding the entering class. The Assistant Director serves in an educational, information, and public relations role with both external and internal constituents. The Assistant Director is responsible for planning and executing the recruitment and communications plans as well as targeted outreach to applicants, admitted students, and pre-law advisors, among others. The position manages and delivers selected recruitment programs, in both region and national locations. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to higher education administration and, in particular, to enrollment management at a professional or graduate school. An advanced or professional degree, the ability to speak and write clearly and persuasively, sensitivity to multicultural and diversity dynamics, and proven organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills are required. Must be available to work a varied schedule, including evenings and weekends, and a minimum of 30% travel per year, season dependent. Must have a valid driver's license with proof of insurability. Proven knowledge and skills with full Microsoft Office suite, social networking sites, and database management required. Preferred qualifications include prior experience in higher education admissions/enrollment management as a counselor or recruiter and experience in professional writing, marketing and public relations.
