BA or higher degree. Experience/Skills:
- B.A. from an accredited college in a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of successful and relevant professional experience.
- Extensive computer skills, including knowledge of both Mac & PC; Final Cut Pro X; Motion; Compressor; Adobe Suite; Lightroom 4; Capture One Pro and VSCO Film.
- Self-starter with excellent project management abilities who is able to shepherd projects from concept to completion, enlisting the support and enthusiasm of others in the process.
- Can serve as part of a team for special event planning, offering creative ideas, managing details and implementing plans.
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to work well alone, one-on-one, or as part of a larger team.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Willing and able to support the mission of Valparaiso University.
Job Summary:
The Associate Director Creative Services - Photography/Videography for Integrated Marketing and Communications supports the mission of Valparaiso University by capturing and producing attractive photos and compelling videos that attract students, engage alumni and create excitement within the campus community. The Associate Director will work within the IMC team ensuring uniformity in branding and consistent adherence to University standards for all marketing materials and activities.
Reporting Relationship:
- Reports to the Vice President of IMC.
- Works with other IMC staff on projects such as media relations, internal communications, special events, fundraising and campaign communications, alumni communications and communications to prospective students.
- Collaborates with other individuals on campus including administrators, faculty and deans to achieve a variety of marketing communication goals, with a focus on photography/videography.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Understands the mission and vision of VU and can effectively communicate it to an audience.
- Supports the work of the IMC team as it strives to achieve goals related to increasing student recruitment and raising funds for the University.
- Strong project manager able to conceive and follow through with ideas to help build pride and affinity among members of the campus community by supervising projects to the entire campus audience.
- Provides creative direction and consultation, design and coordination of photo/video marketing pieces from inception to final product.
- Participates on committees designed to strengthen and improve VU's marketing communications.
