Job Summary: |
The Solutions Engineer will work individually or as part of a team to analyze challenges, develop solutions, and implement the chosen solutions. He/She will be required to work with other developers as well as with various constituents both inside the department and in the greater university community. Research & Development - Discovering new technology, discovering it's benefits and uses and then implement to solve problems. Solution Implementation - Using establish standards and programming principles, design, write, debug, install, and/or maintain specified software individually and/or as a member of leader of a project team. Business Needs Analysis - Consult with Dean, Directors, Department Chairs, and other University officials regarding their needs for software solutions. Software Maintenance - Assist with maintaining existing solutions as necessary. Solutions Related Task - Be prepared to accept system administrative or support roles as well as other non-traditional tasks to further solutions and/or services to both internal and external customers. Standards - Assist in the creation of standards and procedures to allow for a coherent and well documented operational environment. Emergency Response - Be prepared and willing to address system failures and crises as they apply to projects and programs that have been assigned.
