Education:

A master's degree is preferred. A bachelor's degree is required.

Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • 3-5 years of admission experience.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies, including students and parents.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft, Google applications and various social media platforms is preferred.
  • Experience in transfer student recruitment, development, advising or any equivalent combination of relevant education is preferred.
  • Must be highly organized with strong analytical ability.
  • Ability to work well under deadlines and a considerable degree of flexibility and initiative is required.
  • This position requires the sue of technology and data to determine the success of performance.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide outstanding service to prospective, applied and admitted students.

The Assistant Director of Transfer Enrollment is responsible for coordinating prospective transfer student outreach efforts (on and off campus), counseling and advising prospective students, managing the application process through matriculation.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong ability to lead others and to work productively as a member of a group. They will also demonstrate a deep understanding of the University's mission as it relates to recruitment and admission of a diverse and talented student body.

  • Implement a comprehensive recruitment plan for assigned region.
  • Present information about Valparaiso University to groups of students, parents, educators and alumni.
  • Travel to community colleges, college fairs and other events as assigned, serving as a representative of Valparaiso University; may require overnight travel.
  • Interview prospective students.
  • Evaluate and present applications to the admission committee.
  • Meet recruitment goals.
  • Assist new students with summer registration and advising.
  • Assist Admission Office with special projects and related tasks.
  • Report on a regular basis various admission and recruitment activities.
  • Some evening and weekend work is required.
