Driver's License

Your country's driver's license is NOT accepted as proof of driving experience. You must get an Indiana Learner Permit.  For 60 days you must drive with a licensed driver in the car.  After 180 days, you can apply for an Indiana driver's license.

An international driver's license is valid for one year.  If you plan to live in Indiana longer than one year, you need to get an Indiana driver's license.

If you have a learner permit and an international license, you are permitted to drive without a licensed driver in the car.

You have 180 days to get an Indiana driver's license if you have moved here from another state.
