Health Forms and Insurance (Mandatory)

Mandatory Health Insurance for a Healthy Campus

Because of the high cost of medical care in the US, you need to have health insurance with at least:

(1) Medical benefits of at least $50,000 per accident or illness.

 (2) Repatriation of remains in the amount of $7,500.

 (3) Expenses associated with medical evacuation of the exchange visitor to his or her home country in the amount of $10,000.

(4) A deductible not to exceed $500 per accident or illness.

If you have this kind of medical coverage from your country or sponsor, then you must show VU proof of that coverage.

If you do not have proof of insurance that meet these terms you will be required to purchase the policy the Office of International Programs provides at the approximate cost of $1248.00 per year.

Wells Fargo is the health provider the Office of International Programs utilizes for International Students and Scholars. You may view their insurance brochure  here.

For other general guidance see the International Students Health Brochure.
