Job Description, Duties and Qualifications
Description:
An Intramural Official is responsible for safely and fairly maintaining game play. Officials must be rules experts and be able to make fair and unbiased judgments through play. Intramural Officials must be in charge of the game while still allowing the participants to enjoy their sport. The Sport Supervisor will assign additional duties as needed.
Duties:
- Prompt appearance in regulation uniform.
- Detailed and complete knowledge of game rules and procedures.
- Ensure that all teams sign-in on the game sheets.
- Begin the games at scheduled times and report any forfeits.
- Maintain control of the game environment by remaining fair andunbiased<.br>
- Continuous monitor for safety hazards such as weather and equipment.
- Settle any rules or conduct disputes.
- Alert the Sport Supervisor to any problems or injuries.
- Assist Sport Supervisor of Sport Coordinator with any additional duties.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Valparaiso University student
with sport rules knowledge and the ability to follow directions
and perform the above duties in a friendly, yet firm manner.
