Sport Coordinator Job Description, Duties and Qualifications
Description:
The sport coordinator is responsible for planning and implementing season-long sports. Responsibilities include recruiting teams and officials, training officials and sport supervisors, holding managers meeting, creating leagues and schedules for teams and work schedules for officials, creating tournament brackets, and continually communicating with officials and team captains. Sport Coordinators work directly with and are responsible to the Director and Assistant Director of Intramurals and Campus Recreation as well as the Intramural Administrative Assistant.
Duties:
- Promotion of sport.
- Recruitment of officials and teams.
- Yearly revision of rules and procedures.
- Running managers meetings.
- Creating schedules for teams, sport supervisors and officials.
- Continuous inventory evaluation.
- Continuous communication with supervisors, officials and team captains.
- Coordination of gym and field space through ARC building scheduler.
- Daily upkeep of records and team standings.
Qualifications:
- Must be a trained Building Supervisor and adhere to the qualifications set forth by that position.
- Must have previous work experience in the Intramural department and within the specific sport as a Sport Supervisor.
- Knowledge of Valparaiso University policies.
