Sport Supervisor
Job Description, Duties and Qualifications


Description:

The nightly sport supervisor is responsible for maintaining proper and smooth Intramural game operations. Duties include coordinating the officials staff, directing teams to the proper playing field, handling first aid situations, properly filing protests and ensuring that game begin on time. The supervisor must also assist the Sport Coordinator with any season concerns and the Building Supervisor with any nightly situations.

Duties:

  • Responsible for supervision of all planned Intramural programs.
  • Assigning officials to games and signing them in and out on the payroll sheets.
  • Assigning teams to the proper fields or courts.
  • Perform first aid as needed and fill out proper injury report forms.
  • Settle disputes concerning rules, conduct and procedures and fill out protest forms as needed.
  • Monitor safety hazards such as weather conditions and equipment.
  • Ensure that games begin on time and the 5 minute forfeit rule is followed.
  • Practice all safety precaution in dealing with blood borne pathogens.
  • Be knowledgeable of all Intramural procedures including the Intramural handbook, eligibility, and tournament procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a trained Building Supervisor and adhere to the qualifications set forth by that position.
  • Must have previous work experience in the Intramural department and within the specific sport.
  • Knowledge of Valparaiso University policies.
