Weight Room Attendant
Job Description, Duties and Qualifications
Description:
The position consists of supervising the patrons in the ARC and Kroencke Weight Rooms and keeping the equipment clean and in proper working order. The main responsibilities are to control participants, handle immediate first aid needs, and clean weight room equipment as needed. The attendant must be dedicated to the insurance of safety to the patrons using the weight room and maintain positive relations and rapport with our staff.
Duties:
- Responsible for supervision of the weight room facilities
- Clearing the weight room at closing time
- Maintain cleanliness of the weight rooms
- Curtail any misuse of the weight room facilities by informing patrons of what manner they are improperly using the weight room
- Make sure the safety and first aid equipment is stocked and it its proper place
- Check for proper identification and ensure that patrons sign-in
- Give first aid as required and follow the proper medical procedures
- Practice all safety precaution in dealing with blood borne pathogens
Qualifications:
- Must have current CPR and First Aid certifications and complete the ARC Emergency Training Program
- Must be a Valparaiso University student with the ability to follow directions and perform the above duties in a friendly, yet firm manner
- Knowledge of Valparaiso University
