April 7, 2014

On Wednesday, April 16 during the early morning maintenance time period (3:00-7:00 a.m.), we are moving the blogs.valpo.edu service to a new server. We are not removing or changing anyone’s ability to use this blogging site, and your blog address will not change. We are simply moving it so we can more effectively protect our servers and network from security risks.

Due to this move to a new server, the site will no longer be included in the password synchronization offered through our Account Management Service. This will not affect most individuals, because most people have used a completely separate password. If you attempt to login after the move and are unsuccessful, change your blogs.valpo.edu password by using the tool at this URL: http://blogs.valpo.edu/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
If you still have problems logging in, place a ticket with the Help Desk.

A further goal is to clean up the number of blogs on the site. If your blog has not been updated within the past year, we will be disabling the blog so that it is no longer active on the site. If you haven’t updated your blog recently but want to ensure it is saved, we will be happy to work with you. Simply place a ticket with the Help Desk to request assistance.

Don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any questions or concerns about this change.
