For access to any Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) services--those services listed below--log in with your LDAP username and password, sometimes referred to as your ValpoNet username and password.
Your username follows this convention: the first letter of your first name and up to the first seven letters of your last name--the legal name provided upon registration or employment.
- In multiple word last names, the space or apostrophe is eliminated.
- In duplicate names, a number has been included in the username. If you cannot log in, check with the Help Desk to see if yours is a duplicate name.
LDAP Password Changes and Resets:
Your ValpoNet password can be changed via the Account Management System. If you do not know your password then you will need to request a reset before you can login and change it. ValpoNet password resets can be requested by presenting a photo ID to the IT Help Desk located on the first floor of the Christopher Center. If you are away from campus, call the Help Desk to determine how to verify identity.
Valpo relies on email accounts for students, faculty, and staff as a primary means to communicate vital information. When individuals do not use their University-assigned email accounts, that information is often not conveyed. Individuals who do not routinely check their University email accounts assume all risks and consequences of such neglect.
Departmental / Student Organization Email Addresses:
Shared mail folders, like IT.HelpDesk@valpo.edu, help assure that organization or department mail reaches the current officers or certain employees. The faculty advisors of Student Senate-approved organizations or administrators of offices or events may apply for a shared account or group through the IT Help Desk. These individuals will give appropriate sharing rights to those who handle the mail; this assures that mail is still read when club officers graduate. See more information here.
