Information for Graduates
Graduates are extended the courtesy of lifetime e-mail forwarding. Email can be forwarded through the Online Service Center.
Your account will be accessible until the end of the drop/add period of the next semester. (This means August for May grads; January for December grads).
After your account has been disabled, graduates may contact the Help Desk to change the forwarding address.
Administrators of shared e-mail folders should give administrative
access to an appropriate individual.
H Drive
Your H:\ drive will be accessible until the end of the drop/add period of the next semester. (This means August for May grads; January for December grads).
After that time files located on your H:\ drive will be inaccessible. Copy files to CDs in the Christopher Center, use a USB memory stick, or download to your home computer before your account is disabled.
Personal Computers
Graduates who are currently using the Cisco Systems VPN Client provided by VU for use with the VU's wireless network need to uninstall the program. Also, students currently using Sophos AntiVirus provided by VU need to uninstall the program. For the safety of your computer, IT suggests you purchase antivirus software for your personal computer.
Personal Web Pages / Blogs
Personal web pages and blogs should be removed from the VU web space. IT will remove any personal web pages and blogs after accounts have been disabled.
Voicemail
Graduates should note important information from all remaining voicemail messages. All voicemail messages will be purged from voicemail boxes. Currently there is no way to save phone mail messages. Please make arrangements to transfer shared voicemail boxes.
Mailing Lists
Departing students should unsubscribe from any mailing lists they may be a part of. Administrators of majordomo listservs should train an appropriate individual to become the new administrator of the list.
