GroupWise is our officially supported email and calendar solution. We encourage faculty, students and staff to use these tools. If you would like to use other clients you may not be able to take advantage of the full feature set of GroupWise. To configure a different email application for use with GroupWise via IMAP or POP3 use the following settings:

POP3
Server name: gwdm4.valpo.edu
Port: 995
Use secure connection (SSL): Yes
Username: your login id

IMAP
Server name: gwdm4.valpo.edu
Port: 993
Use secure connection (SSL): Yes
Username: your login id

Outgoing (SMTP) server settings
Server name: gwdm4.valpo.edu
Port: 587
Use secure connection (TLS): Yes
(For Apple's Mail application, this is marked as "SSL")
Requires authentication: Yes
Username: your login id

(Please note that our SSL certificates are currently not being recognized by some mail applications as valid. A workaround is to accept the certificate when prompted.)
