The Information Technology department at Valparaiso University welcomes the opportunity to allow guests to take advantage of the resources available on campus. Public access computers and printing are available in the Christopher Center for Library and Information Resources, and guests are permitted to use the campus wireless network.
To use a laptop or mobile device, we have a guest wireless network set up for use in in conjunction with our regular wireless network. Connect your device to the “VU-WiFi” network, open a browser on your device, and follow the instructions to login. You will be given access for seven days; after that time, simply re-login. Help Desk representatives are available to assist with any connection questions you may have.
To use a public access computer, visit either the IT Help Desk located on the first floor of the Christopher Center, or the Circulation Desk on the second floor. Help Desk and Library Services representatives are available to assist you with logging in during regular service hours.
To print on the network laser printers, visit one of the service desks located on the first and second floors of the Christopher Center: the Circulation Desk or the IT Help Desk. IT and Library staff will help you login to a public access computer. Send your print job(s) to the printer named “Guestprinter.” This will send your print job to a printer at the main Circulation Desk on the second floor. When you have printed everything you need, pay at the Circulation Desk and they will release your print jobs. Guest printing costs $0.10 per black & white page. Color printing is not available for guests at this time.
Please note: printing is not available when connected to the wireless network.
