Instructional Design and Faculty Consulting has three facilities where faculty can experiment with various instructional technologies for academic purposes.
The Alcove has sixteen (16) Windows-based workstations. This area can be reserved for class sessions, small group presentations or for instructional sessions by contacting Jen Gregory, Director of Instructional and Learning Services.
The Advanced Media Lab is a place where faculty can create their own multimedia materials such as video/audio capture, edit, and conversion to a number of formats capable of using in a variety of technologies including video/audio streaming, podcasting, or on iPods, or CD/DVD players. Faculty can also use available software to create Flash-based interactive computer based training modules. The AML has eight (8) stations available to students, faculty, staff and the general public consisting of 2 MacPro workstations, 2 high ram Dell GX270's, and 4 Dell Dimension desktops.
The Instructional Design and Faculty Consulting Center, located on the first floor of the Christopher Center, room 166 is equippped with computer stations, a printer, and a presentation area with a large flat panel monitor which can be connected to a laptop for small presentations. Faculty are invited to work in the IDFC Center where Instructional Designers and Student Technologists are on hand to assist with software, help brainstorm instructional ideas or convert your class to an online format.
