Bookstore Credit

• At the University Book Center, you can use your OneCard to charge your textbooks, course-related materials, and software to your student account.
• Your Valparaiso Univerity OneCard can now be used to puchase textbooks, course-related materials, and software online through the online bookstore at efollet.com. These materials must be picked up at the University Bookstore. You must have your OneCard to pick up your items. Shipping to an external address is not permitted.
• Your student account statement consists of your class schedule, semester charges and financial aid credits. Statements are emailed to your @Valpo.edu account at the beginning of each month.
• View your Student Account Statement online at DataVU. After logging in, choose the "Community" tab on the right menu and then "Miscellaneous Balance Listing."
• The University Book Center also provides postal services, allows students to sell back textbooks any day of the academic year, and a wide array of Valparaiso University apparel and gifts.
• Use your Crusader Cash to buy Valpo apparel, supplies, and a myriad of other products. Note: Crusader Cash and your student account are separate accounts and funds are not transferable between the two.

• Dining Dollars are used by recipients of prepaid meal plans to purchase food items from Valpo Dining Services.
• There are two types of Dining Dollars accounts:
  1. Declining-Balance Plan: Undergraduate students living a residence hall will automatically have the mandatory meal plan posted to their Student Account. Students who are not assigned a meal plan as part of their housing agreement may purchase an optional meal plan.
  2. Board Plan: Training Table is an additional board plan option available to all students. This plan allows for one dinner each night – Monday through Thursday only, and are not accumulative. On this prepaid plan the student may choose two entrees plus unlimited side dishes (potatoes, rice, veggies etc.), salad bar and fountain beverages, plus one dessert. A declining balance meal plan is required for eligibility.

• Meal Plan Administrative Charge:
  • An administrative charge will be deducted from each semester’s initial buy-in level, with the remaining balance available for purchases. The charge helps Valpo cover the fixed costs (such as labor and utilities) of operating its a la carte system.
  • The charge will not be assessed on any additional funds added during the semester.
  • Commuters, faculty and staff may buy into the meal plan at a level of their choice, with a minimum of $100, subject to a 5% charge.

• The Founders Table:
  
  The main dining room, located on the east side of the Harre Union, seats 620. Here you will find a variety of foods such as Naples style pizza; a Chef’s Corner where you can watch your food being prepared in front of you; a char-broiler for steaks, chops and seafood; stir-fry; a large garden salad bar; and much more.

• Campus Café:
  
  This relaxing dining area is located on the west side of the Harre Union and adjacent to the Games and Recreation Center. The Campus Café is a late night operation offering pizza, grilled sandwiches, Perk’s Coffee Shop, Freshen’s, a Convenience Store and much more. The Campus Café also includes a performance area and a big screen TV.
• Grinders:
  
  Our Cyber Café located on the lower level of The Christopher Center, features Pura Vida coffee – a fair trade, organically grown coffee that we make into everything from rich Espresso to Frozen Explosion. Homemade pastries, wrap sandwiches and ice-cold bottled beverages are right there when you need a study break too.

• Roll-Over Dining Dollars:

Students can carry over dining dollars from the fall semester to the spring semester.

• • Dining dollars can only be carried over from fall to spring semester, and cannot be carried over to the next school year.
  • To access fall semester rollover dollars, students must also enroll in a spring meal plan.

• University Health Center:
  The Valparaiso University Health Center will accept Crusader Cash for vaccinations and physicals. For more information, visit the Health Center's Website.

• University Fitness Center:
  At the Fitness Center, not only will you need to swipe your OneCard ID to gain admittance, but you can also use your OneCard's Crusader Cash account to purchase:
  • Various services provided by the Fitness Center, including personal fitness sessions
  • Exercise classes such as Kickboxing, Cycling, and Zumba
  • Athletic Valpo gear to suit your fitness needs
  Punch cards can be purchased with Crusader Cash
  • 5 punches for $15 = $3 per class
  • 15 punches for $30 =$2 per class
  • 30 punches for $45 = $1.50 per class
• To support operating costs, a fee is assessed to utilize the Fitness Center:
  • All full-time undergrads and full-time law students pay for this service as part of their tuition
  • Faculty and staff can pay an annual fee of $180.00 or $9.00 per pay period
  • All other card holders will need to pay the annual fee of $180.00

• Crusader Cash can also be used at campus vending machines, copiers in the Christopher Center and Harre Union and laundry facilities in residence halls.                                        
• You will save 3¢ per B&W copy by using your OneCard ID.
  • You will save 25¢ per wash by using your OneCard ID.
  • You will save 15¢ per dry by using your OneCard ID.
  • Visit www.laundryview.com to sign-up for laundry alerts.
    • Email alert when your machines have completed their cycles.
    • Text Me Alert that sends you a text when your laundry is done.
      1. Look for the Text Me Alert poster in the laundry room and note the code printed there.
      2. Once you have started a cycle, send a text message to textme@lvnotify.com with the machine number, and asterisk and the poster code. For example: A01*999992
      3. Then wait for a text message telling you your machine is done!

• Use your Crusader Cash in the vending machines in the Christopher Center, Wehrenberg Hall, Brandt Hall, Alumni Hall, Lankenau Hall, Memorial Hall, Fitness Center, and Harre Union.

• Use your Crusader Cash to purchase food at any of the campus dining locations, including Grinder's, Campus Café, and the Founder's Table. Note: You must first exhaust all meal plan funds before using Crusader Cash for Dining Services.

• The OneCard Office will also accept Crusader Cash for OneCard Office services, including new ID cards and passport photos.

• Use Crusader Cash to purchase books, supplies, Valpo gear, sweatshirts and more at the University Bookstore.

• Off-Campus Merchants

Crusader Cash will now be accepted at various off-campus locations. Keep checking the website to see which merchants will accept Crusader Cash. For more information about the Crusader Cash Program partners, special offers, discounts and more, please see the Use Crusader Cash Off Campus page.

• You can now check your Crusader Cash balance online at DataVU. After logging in, choose the "Community" tab on the right side menu and then choose "Miscellaneous Balance Listing." You can also check your balance by requesting a print out from P.H.I.L.

Security Door / Parking Garage Key-card

• Your OneCard provides access to computer labs, sports and recreational facilities, the student union, library, parking ramp, various academic buildings, and residence halls.
• The smart card technology of your OneCard ID, according to various building regulations, assures the safety and security of all by limiting access after hours, restricting admittance, and reporting access violations.
• Depending on your current requirements and status at the university, your OneCard's magnetic strip is encoded to grant you access into a particular area.
• More buildings are being equipped with this technology so take care of your card and be aware of the magnetic strip.

University Mail Center: Package Tracking

The Package Tracking System is a program that enables the University Mail Center and Student Mail Service (SMS) to handle packages more efficiently for all faculty, staff, and residential students.

• Once a package is scanned into the database, an email is sent to the addressee at their @valpo.edu address. The email notifies you if the package is perishable, where to pick up the package and the hours
• A second email is sent if the package is not picked up after 7 days
• A final email is sent after 14 days
• All efforts are made to notify the student before anything is returned to the sender.

Library Services Card

• Your OneCard ID is used as your library card to check out materials from the Christopher Center for Library & Information Resources.
• For everyone's protection, all borrowers must present a OneCard ID to check out materials at the Christopher Center
• We advise you never to loan your OneCard ID to someone else to check out materials for another person. You are responsible for all items checked out on your OneCard.

Campus Events and Facility Admittance Pass

• You can use your OneCard to gain admittance to different events on campus for free or at a reduced price.
• Your OneCard is useful for admittance to campus events such as: lectures, regularly scheduled athletic events and presentations of the Music and Drama Departments.
• Your OneCard ID allows you to use the pool and Cardio-Fitness room in the Athletics and Recreation Center (ARC)

Passport Services

Going overseas? Taking part in a Study Abroad program? The OneCard Office is your local source for passport-quality photos. The service will be offered to anyone on campus or within the city of Valparaiso. A discount will be assessed to anyone with a valid Valparaiso University OneCard ID. This service is not limited to passports, but can be used to make additional pictures for immigration documents, international drivers' licenses, press releases, and identification cards.
