EIS will establish a generic electronic mail address in consultation with the department or organization and set up an entry in the VU e-mail alias table.
The generic address will point to a shared e-mail (Simeon) folder; a person designated by the department will be the manager of that folder and will be able to authorize others to use the folder.
Because of the management problems and security risks inherent in shared accounts, EIS will not establish a login: intended for use by more than one person; and reaffirms that individual accounts are established for the sole use of the account holder, who is personally responsible and liable for any use made of his/her account.
