Inter-Building Telecommunications: TP Copper Connectivity
Requirements:
- Media: Heavy-duty gel-filled armored cabling (see VU Approved Parts List). Capacity specified on per building basis.
- Termination: Cabling must be terminated in 3M Series 4188 (see VU Approved Parts List)
- Labeling/Documentation: Clearly label and document (including cable route) all cable installations. Obtain cable number and labelling standard from EIS.
- Installation: Installation by BiCSi Certified Installer Only. Manhole-splicing should be avoided. All copper installations must have arresters (see VU Approved Parts List) at building entrance.
- Verification: Cabling must be tested for continuity and polarity. Installed cable must be tested for and meet or exceed Nortel Digital resistance and attenuation requirements.
