Requirements:
- Main (MDF) wiring room
- Rackmount FDC Termination (SIECOR; see VU Approved Parts List for approved styles)
- Each floor's terminations must be in a separate FDC
- Terminations must be clearly labelled and documented.(check with EIS for labelling format at time of installation)
- All Intra-Building Terminations must be done using ST connectors
- All Strands must be terminated when installed
- Floor (IDF) wiring rooms
- Rackmount FDC Termination (SIECOR; see VU Approved Parts List for approved styles)
- For terminations above 24strands (12 pair) a dedicated FDC must be used
- Installation: Installation by BiCSi Certified Fiber Optics Installer Only
- Terminations must be clearly labelled and documented
- All Intra-Building Terminations must be done using ST connectors
- All Strands must be terminated when installed
- 15' slack on each end to allow re-termination
Testing
The terminated installation must be able to support error-free 10GB operation over the entire distance. All installations must be tested and certified using applicable procedures outlined in ANSI/EIA/TIA-455 (Fiber Optic Test Procedures) and ANSI/EIA/TIA-526 (Optic Fiber Systems Test Procedures). Fiber Optic Test Results (100% of installation), as-built drawings. Submissions must be both in print and standards electronic format (contact EIS for acceptable file formats).
EIS may opt to independently test and verify any installation prior to acceptance.
