Communications Outlet Specifications: Class Room Space
Regular Class Room
- Location: 4 corners of the room; If capacity is larger than 40 students, add outlets at ratio of 2 per 40 students; consider floor outlets where appropriate
- Configuration: 3 UTP
- Wireless: 2 wireless outlets (see appropriate specifications)
- Special: Covered Outlets
Computer Class Room
- Location: 4 Corners of the room; along the walls and in the floor as appropriate for class room furniture setup; one outlet per planned computer (detailed configuration must be reviewed on a case-by-case basis)
- Configuration: 3 UTP
- Wireless: 2 wireless outlets (see appropriate specifications)
- Special:
- Power should be available as needed to power equipment (2 outlets per station)
- Setup should be planned to be flexible for future reconfiguration
- Centralized Surge Protection for Outlets should be considered
