Introduction

The purpose of this document is to provide requirements, recommendations, and guidelines for the specification and installation of telecommunications facilities. The aim of this document is to foster telecommunications installations that will hold up to technological advancements for as long as possible and to maximize return on investment by minimizing staff and materials cost in future maintenance.

General Requirements:
EIS Network Services and EIS Telecommunications Services must be consulted before any specific project can be considered completed in its planning, implementation, and sign-off phases. EIS Network Services and EIS Telecommunications Services as providers of telecommunications services have a unique and very important insight in the needs of our users and the spaces they occupy as well as technological and strategic considerations. While some parts of this document may seem questionable to somebody seeing a particular side of telecommunications, it is our sincere belief that the information in this document is both accurate and in the best interest of the university in terms of stragically planning and implementing lasting and flexible telecommunications facilities.

Specific Requirements/Standards/Specifications:
It is required that the most recent revision levels at the time of installation of the following published industry standards be adhered to in all installations:

In combination with the NetClear Channel Solution, the installer must be certified to the most recent revision level of NetClear. The 25-year NetClear Channel Solution Warranty must be included on all installations.
