CMS Conversion Update
By Mark Sharp, Director of Web Services

A few of the many sites that Web Services has completed in the CMS.
As the academic year draws to a close, Web Services would like to update the campus community on the progress of its ongoing migration to the campus Web Content Management System. In partnership with University Marketing and University Relations, Web Services has been migrating existing Web sites into the CMS. The process involves moving existing content into a new campus template customized for each department. The new look helps to solidify university brand and identity, while still allowing each unit’s personality to be present. Web Services has been able to begin 58 migrations of the 100+ existing sites.
The goal of the migration project is to have all sites within the CMS before Fall semester classes begin. Once all sites are in the CMS, Web Services will begin Phase 2 of the CMS implementation, which will be to bring site-wide enhancements to all sites within the CMS. These enhancements include everything from fresh content to more photography and everything in between.
Be on the lookout for updates over the summer, including a sneak peak of the new university home page and upper-level pages. In the meantime, take a look at some of the sites that have already been published:
