Ask I.T. - File Restoration

Salvage files

The end of the semester is fast approaching, and many of you have important files you have been working on for quite some time. Accidents happen, and many people have inadvertently deleted important files at critical times. If this has happened to you, there is good news.

When you store your files on your Novell network drive, you can recover any file you have deleted from that drive. Just right-click on the drive or on the folder in the drive from which you deleted the file and click on the "Salvage Files..." menu option that has a red N next to it. This will bring up a listing of all of the files you have deleted from that location. You can select the specific file you want to restore or restore all files that have been deleted from this location. So if you accidentally delete a vital file from your network drive, relax, take a deep breath, and take advantage of the salvage function.
