Beth Butcher, Development Systems Manager, joined the Office of Institutional Advancement in August. Butcher, with over ten years in database management, was formerly employed by the University of Southern Indiana. While she works primarily in support of development, alumni relations, and church relations, she also provides assistance and training to authorized users in maintaining quality records and information. Butcher served as Publications Chair of the Indiana Association for Institutional Research from 2005 to 2007.

The Butchers are happy in their country home in Newton County where her sons enjoy the county school environment. She was aware of Valpo's character since it was on her final choices list as a high school senior. "It's important to work in an environment not against one's ethical or moral standards," she says in describing Valpo as a workplace. She's already preparing for the conversion to Colleague in July of '09. "Eighteen months out isn't that far, given the amount of records and data clean-up to do," she says. Since this is her third conversion to manage, she's prepared.
