This document is detailed walk-through for connecting to the Novell servers from a Mac running OS X. This will allow you to connect to your "h: drive" and "g: drive". Do note that the Application Launcher is not able to run from the Mac.

AFP connectivity to these servers will be disabled shortly. If you have connections saved with the afp:// prefix, change them to cifs:// as in the next step.

Enter the address of the server to connect to in the form of cifs://servername.valpo.edu and click the + button to add the address to your favorites for easy connection in the future. Then click Connect.
For an explanation of which servers to access see the Note at the bottom of this documentation.

Select the volume to connect to and click OK.
For an explanation of which volumes to access see the Note at the bottom of this documentation.

Enter your username and password and click OK.

Folders you have access to will open at the highest level. Departmental and Academic shared space is located in the Shared folder. Personal home directories are located in the Users folder.
Note that the volume also appears on the desktop for you to access files. Drag this item to the Trash to disconnect from the server.
Note: Home directories, often referred to as your H: drive on a Windows computer, are personal space available to every individual at VU. Shared directories, or your G: drive on Windows computers, are shared spaces for collaboration among individuals, classes, or entire departments. The servers and volumes on which these directories reside depend on your role at the university. See the chart below to determine which server and volume to select to access these spaces.
