The Gromley Society

“He had expectations of us, ethically and morally. He worked for peanuts, but he gave generously to the Law School every year.”
–Dee Burgman ‘79

The Gromley Society recognizes and honors donors who have made an annual contribution of $1,000 or more to Valparaiso University Law School.

There is no finer law school memory for so many of our graduates than that of Professor Charlie Gromley. From 1960 to 1992, he was a master in bringing out the potential in students helping them to achieve more than they ever thought possible. He was a servant to his students and to the law school, which makes naming this society after him so appropriate. His name evokes dedication to the profession and a commitment to excellence.

Membership in this society reflects a high level of commitment to the School and a shared vision for ensuring excellence in legal education. For the long-term health of the law school it is important to dramatically increase Annual Fund dollars from alumni and friends and to generate a significant number of donors who give at the $1,000 level and more every single year.

By making these annual gifts, Gromley Society members place themselves at the head of a partnership of alumni, parents, and friends who, with the dean, students, faculty, and administrators, dedicate their lives to ensuring that the School takes its place among the nation’s leading law schools.

Your contributions make the difference between a good law school and a great one. Just like Gromley, who made a good class a great one.
