2L & 3L Scholarships

Full-time students who work hard and excel at Valparaiso University Law School can be offered merit scholarship awards for their second and third years of study. Students who were awarded scholarships for their first year of study may continue their awards or possibly increase them up to 100% of tuition, as outlined below. Students who did not receive a scholarship award for their first year of study may earn one as a 2L and/or 3L.

For students awarded scholarships for their first year of study, the scholarship will be renewed after the end of each academic year for the same percentage of tuition if the student earns the required cumulative GPA as specified in his or her letter of acceptance. Additionally, whether the student had a scholarship in that amount or not for their prior year of study at Valparaiso University Law School, the top 5 students, as determined by class rank, receive a full tuition scholarship. Students in the top 5% of the class receive a scholarship of 80% of tuition. Students in the top 10% of the class receive an award of 50% of tuition. Students in the top 15% of the class earn 30% tuition scholarships.  Students in the top 20% of the class earn 20% tuition scholarships.

Continuing full-time students at the Law School who qualify, as specified above, are awarded merit scholarships. Students who are in the part-time program and later move into the full-time program need to complete one year of full-time study at the Law School to qualify for a merit scholarship.
