Valparaiso University Law School Student Health Coverage
Valpo Law students are automatically covered through a basic student health insurance program (http://www.studentplanscenter.com/school.asp?PolicyNumber=2004M3A96). Normally, for single law students this is sufficient. Law students with families or special medical needs might want to consider purchasing one the of the optional supplemental plans outlined below.
Basic Coverage Health Plan
Valparaiso University Student Medical Plan features automatic coverage for every incoming full-time student. The plan features 12 months of continued coverage and offers limited services provided by a physician and staff free of charge to all law students. This Plan provides payment for hospital and surgical expenses up to specified limits.
These benefits may be combined with any of the following options.
Optional Health Plans that may be combined with the Valpo Plan:
The Valparaiso University Optional Student’s Family Medical Plan: This plan includes 12 months continuous coverage and features two options a basic plan for $120.00. They also have a supplemental plan for $160.00 per year and the supplemental plan covers expenses above and beyond the basic plan.

Fortis Insurance Company: This is another plan which students often combine with our Valparaiso University Plan for additional coverage. For more information on this plan, please call 1-800-228-6768.
This list of programs is not exhaustive. There are many health insurance plans available for law students.
Special Health Note:
The University Health Center requires all incoming law students to submit a health form no later than July 1.
