<p><strong>American Counsel Association Lowell-Jacobson Scholarship</strong><br/>
This scholarship is for a returning third year student who demonstrates a high scholastic aptitude and who has financial need. Students must be from one of the law schools located in the Seventh Judicial Circuit.&#160; Nominees are selected by the law school and those nominated must submit a letter from a law school professor or administrator setting forth the academic credentials and extracurricular activities of the nominee, and a letter from the nominee is required setting forth their financial need. Information is sent to the financial aid office in February of each year.&#160; Nominations are due in June.<br/>

There are two scholarships available from these organizations for second year law students attending one of the four Indiana Law Schools:<br/>

<em>Diversity Scholarship</em> &#8211; applicants should reflect diversity including but not limited to ethnicity, race, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or religion.&#160; Students will write a 750 word essay describing their background, interests, how they currently contribute to diversity initiatives or awareness, and explain why they believe they are a strong candidate for this scholarship.<br/>

</strong>This scholarship is available to second and third year law students who are of Hellenic descent. These scholarships are based upon academic performance and demonstrable financial need. Four scholarships were awarded last year. Students must also be from Illinois or attending one of the Illinois Law schools.</p>

<p>Applications are received in the financial aid office in mid summer and are due to the bar association by mid-September. Students selected to receive the scholarship will be interviewed. Those receiving the scholarship must be able to attend the Annual Scholarship Ball in October.</p>
