As we enjoy these warm days of summer, plans are well underway for the Golden Gavel Society Dinner, Saturday, October 6, 2007 – Homecoming Weekend. This year, the Golden Gavel Society will celebrate alumni that graduated from the School of Law in 1967 and prior.
The Golden Gavel Society consists of members or “gavelers” who graduated 40 or more years ago from the Law School. Each year, Law School alumni are invited to an evening of great company, touching memories, and a fabulous Strongbow Inn turkey dinner.

Whether it is your 40th - 45th or 50th Class Reunion, plan to attend this hallmark event! Classmates who may not have returned to Valparaiso in years make a special effort to return for the fellowship and renewed friendship opportunities that this reunion provides. The campus is at its most beautiful, the weather is usually cooperative and the sheer joy of reminiscing about life 40 - 50 years ago in this unique place is abundantly apparent.
Homecoming Events
Earlier in the day the Law School also hosts an Alumni Picnic/Luncheon. We hope you and your spouse/guest will join us for both events in the Duesenberg Commons in Wesemann Hall on Saturday, October 6, 2007

Golden Gavel Memory Book
A popular souvenir produced for the Golden Gavel Society members is the class Memory Book. Each classmate is asked to submit several brief paragraphs that reflect on his/her Valpo Law experience and life since graduating from Valpo. It is a fascinating document -- often it is the stimulus that brings classmates back to the reunion! You will soon receive a questionnaire to complete and return to be included in the memory book.
