Message from the Associate Director Alumni Relations

Vanessa Verner, Associate Director of Alumni Relations at Valparaiso Law

I hail from the south, Memphis, TN to be exact, and my post collegiate career journey began as a Regional Director with National Student Leadership Conference (NSLC) in Chicago. With that organization, I facilitated leadership conferences for high school students under BAR BRI which was the parent company at that time. After leaving NSLC, I began working at Northwestern University in the central Office of Alumni Relations and Development serving alumni from their undergraduate population. I spent five years at Northwestern working with their Reunions Program learning the value of alumni relationships, stewardship and the importance of a thriving network for alumni to be proud to be a member of and current student to be inducted into. My goal for the alumni community at Valparaiso Law is to strengthen the connection you have with the Law School, reconnect those who may have been absent from Valparaiso since graduation, harvest meaningful engagement between alumni and students, starting with the Alumni Mentor Program, and provide a constant reminder of the valuable legal education received from this institution. Working in conjunction will make a bigger impact and have a positive effect on the Valparaiso Law community as a whole.  I welcome your feedback, please contact me at Let me know what you would like to see happen as we strive to serve the alumni.
