Iacocca to address law graduates

A business leader who headed both Chrysler Corporation and Ford Motor Company will speak during commencement ceremonies for graduates of the Valparaiso University School of Law.
Lee Iacocca, who was chief executive officer and chairman of the Board of Chrysler Corporation until his retirement in 1992, will speak at the May 20 ceremonies in the Chapel of the Resurrection on campus. Prior to joining Chrysler in 1978, Iacocca spent 32 years with Ford, rising from management trainee to president and chief operating officer.
Following his retirement as CEO, Iacocca served another year on Chrysler’s Board of Directors and was a consultant to the company until 1994.
He currently is chairman of the Iacocca Foundation, a philanthropic organization he established in 1984 that is dedicated to educational projects and to the advancement of diabetes research.
He is chairman of the Committee for Corporate Support of Joslin Diabetes Foundation and chairman emeritus of The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation. He also is chair of the Advisory Board of Nourish The Children Foundation, a non-profit organization that feeds children throughout the world who are facing starvation.
Author of a nationally syndicated newspaper column for seven years, Iacocca is author of two best-selling books, “Iacocca” and “Talking Straight.”
