Valparaiso University School of Law welcomes new staff

Joining the staff of Valparaiso University’s School of Law this month are Dr. Joseph Baruffi, director of student services, and Velma Jones, director of development.

Dr. Baruffi, who lives in Chesterton, comes to Valparaiso’s School of Law from the University of Chicago, where he had served in a variety of program-development related positions in continuing education.

Dr. Baruffi earned a Ph.D. in ancient Mediterranean studies from the University of Chicago and a bachelor of science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. He is active in several Duneland community organizations.

Velma Jones has worked in Purdue University’s advancement office in West Lafayette since 2003, most recently as a major gift officer for its School of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Purdue.
