New Curriculum Informational Meetings
For just over a year, the faculty has been working on a curricular reform project. There were three goals: ensure our curriculum is doing everything it can to best prepare you to pass the bar, to get a job, and to carry a high degree of satisfaction with your legal education throughout your career.
We are now ready to unveil the outcomes of that project, and will be doing so at open meetings on the following times and dates:
Thursday, March 21, 11:00 a.m. – 11:40 a.m., Tabor Classroom
Thursday, March 21, 2:40 p.m. – 3:15p.m., Stride Classroom
Thursday, March 28, 11:00 a.m. – 11:40 a.m., Tabor Classroom
Thursday, March 28, 2:40 p.m. – 3:15 p.m., Stride Classroom
The new curriculum will affect all current first and second-year students. We strongly encourage students in these classes to attend one of these sessions
On Tuesday, March 19 during Chapel Break, Dennis Barden of Witt/Keifer, the firm charged with helping facilitate the search for our new dean, will be here to get your input on what you value in a dean and inform us of the process that the school will undertake to replace Dean Conison. This is a VERY important meeting and an opportunity for student voices to be heard in shaping the future of our school. NO FACULTY or STAFF will be in the room so you should feel free to be candid about what you think makes a great leader for our law school. The meeting will take place during Chapel Break in Tabor Classroom. We hope to see you there. If you are not able to attend, please contact Valerie Johnson or Lakshmi Jayanthi with suggestions, questions, or concerns. Also, there will be a suggestion box on the table outside of the SBA office where you can leave your suggestions, questions, or concerns and we will be sure to pass them along to Dennis and the Dean Search Committee.
The 3rd Annual Catwalk for the Cause Charity Fashion Show will take place Friday, March 22, at the Harre Union in Ballrooms A, B, and C.
All proceeds from ticket sales and donations will go to Lakeshore PAWS. Lakeshore PAWS is dedicated to finding loving homes for abandoned and unwanted pets in Northwest Indiana. Lakeshore PAWS is a volunteer-run, nonprofit organization in Porter County, Indiana. The effort was established by two business women and animal lovers who simply could not ignore the growing number of animals without homes. For more information you can go to www.lakeshorepaws.org.
– Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
– The Fashion Show begins at 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday, March 20, 5:15 p.m. – 7:15 p.m., in Tabor Classroom.
