The International Law Society is a group of students interested in furthering an understanding of the importance of international legal issues in the modern practice of law. We do this by arranging for guest speakers to lecture on various topics relevant to the development of international law, distributing information both to members and non members regarding career opportunities and study abroad programs, and promoting the discussion of international law within the student body.
In the past year, the International Law Society has hosted guest lectures by practicing international lawyers, sent members to an international law career fair in Chicago, organized social functions, and engaged in various fundraising activities. This spring, we will be helping our local Amnesty International chapter in arranging for a discussion of women's issues in Afghanistan, to be led by a former Afghan citizen. Members will also be participating in an International Law Moot Court Competition and attending conferences.
The International Law Society provides immediate leadership and networking opportunites for law students who plan to pursue a career in international law or who just have an interest in the field.
