GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
The National Marrow Donor Program will be on campus on Tuesday, May 6th. Some of the highlights are below, but check your email for more specific information
Where
Student Union, Main Campus from 10:00 to 3:00
Student Lounge, Law School from 1:30 to 3:30
How
• Meet age, health, and weight requirements (see below).
• Complete a registration form with contact and health information, and a signed agreement.
• Give a swab of your cheek cells so that your tissue type can be identified.
Cost
Tissue typing is an expensive process, and normally the cost to join the registry is $52. However, on May 6, the first 100 registrants will be able to join for free. Fees are waived for minority donors, and all other registrants may join for a reduced cost of $25.
Sponsorship
If you or your organization, fraternity, or sorority would be willing to donate registration fees for one or more donors, that would help me ensure that no one is prohibited from joining for financial reasons.
If you’re unable to join, but would like to sponsor a member, donations in advance are welcome! (Make checks payable to the Indiana Blood Center and direct them to the attention of Rosalie Levinson.)
Please contact Rosalie Levinson at 465-7854 or rosalie.levinson@valpo.edu if you have questions or if you or your organization is interested in sponsoring donors.
