Examination/Standardized Test Scores Information
There are NO standardized test scores required for domestic students applying to the following programs:

  • Doctorate in Nursing Practice
  • English Studies & Communication
  • Humane Education
  • International Commerce & Policy
  • International Economics & Finance
  • Information Technology & Management
  • Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (MALS)
  • MSN in Nursing Education
  • School Psychology
  • Sports Administration
  • Sports Media

Standardized test scores are REQUIRED for students applying to the following programs:

Master of Business Administration
The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) exam is required for all students applying to the MBA program. Information regarding the GMAT can be found on their website at: http://www.gmac.com/gmac/thegmat.

Master of Education – Initial Licensure
CASA (Core Academic Skills Assessment) exam with score of 220 (www.in.nesinc.com). Evidence of passing scores must be submitted at the time of application. Anyone with a master's degree from a regionally accredited institution is exempt from this requirement. Secondary education candidates must also present passing scores on the content area by passing the Pearson Content Knowledge exams at the time of application for admission to the M.Ed. (Initial Licensure) program.

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
International students must take The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) unless they have received a degree from a US institution of higher education. Passing score is 80 overall for most programs. Individual program requirements may vary. Students may substitute intensive study in English language at the Interlink English Language Center at Valparaiso University. Completion of Level 5 is required. Score of 6.0 or better on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) may also be submitted.
