Deaconess student Leah Anderson studies at the Mayo Clinic school of Medicine and intends to be a doctor deaconess. She plans to set up her practice in an underserved area. Leah feels that her deaconess background will help her focus and serve with a Christ-like heart.

Deaconess Brenda Bauer is a staff nurse at hospice of the Red River Valley. She assists people through various stages of the hospice process, bringing comfort and compassion at the end of life. Brenda is also a parish nurse at St. John Lutheran Church in Fargo, ND. She provides leadership and support for 1300 members raising up the healing ministry of the church and its people.
