Caring for the Caregiver
A Guide for Congregational Support of Family Caregivers
A
guide for collecting resources in your community, to support those who
care for the ill, the elderly, or the homebound. Congregations are in
a unique position to identify caregivers and their needs, and to assist
and support those caregivers. "Caring for the Caregiver" includes
devotions, meeting agendas, study materials, and guidelines for surveying
your congregation and community. It also includes a comprehensive, twelve-page
annotated bibliography of resources on care giving. "Caring for the
Caregiver" comes in a sturdy, three-ring loose-leaf binder, so you
can add your own notes and materials along the way.

Servant Songs: Giving voice to the diaconal heart
Servant Songs: Giving Voice To the Diaconal Heart
Recordings of 17 songs sung and played by Lutheran deaconesses, in a wealth
of musical styles, to share the message of God’s love and care through
Christ. Selections include: Healer of Our Every Ill, Psalm 51: Create
in Me, Precious Lord, It is Well with My Soul, and A Gaelic Blessing.
Healing Songs:
Prayers for Wholeness
Recordings
of 20 songs focusing on Christ’s healing and wholeness. Deaconesses
today carry on Christ’s healing ministry in their work, prayer and
song. Selections include: Lord, Whose Love in Humble Service, Beautiful
Savior, I was There to Hear Your Borning Cry, Thine the Amen, Thine the
Praise, and Lift High the Cross.
The Lutheran Deaconess Conference gathered to make these recording of Spirit-filled songs. Proceeds support scholarships, formation events, and educational programs for Deaconesses. The recordings are supported by grants from The Valparaiso Project Foundation and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
