Welcome!

717 – the number of deaconesses the Lutheran Deaconess Association has consecrated since 1919.

717 – deaconesses have served around the world – throughout the United States, North & Central America, Europe, Asia, Africa & Australia.

717 – deaconesses have served as parish staff, missionaries, social workers, lawyers, administrators, chaplains, nurses, educators and on-and-on.

But the LDA is about more than deaconesses. It’s about encouraging the whole people of God in their diaconal life. It’s about leading the church in recognizing its call to diaconia. It’s about providing resources to you.
