Who Supports Us

We have been associated with the Lutheran Deaconess Association for almost 30 years – both as former board members and, subsequently, as members of various LDA committees. We have always been impressed with the dedication and commitment of the deaconesses we have known – as well as the leadership of the LDA. When we revised our estate plan several years ago and set up charitable remainder unitrusts, it was inevitable that we include the Lutheran Deaconess Association as one of the beneficiaries. We encourage all who feel as we do to consider remembering the LDA in your planned giving – either in your will, by giving an insurance policy, through a charitable gift annuity or some other means, in consultation with your investment advisor.

Pat Boessling

The sisters in the deaconess community have strongly influenced my life. In them, I continue to experience relationships that not only speak a spiritual language that encourages deeper soul growth and servanthood, but that have brought to me deep meaningful friendships. For me, stories and examples of the many ways deaconesses serve God and the world broaden, by example, the horizon for our discipleship.

I believe in God’s ministry through this community and I support the LDA with regular financial gifts and have chosen to include them in my will. In this way my stewardship extends beyond my life and also provides at the time of my death.

I give thanks for my deaconess friends, this ministry and the many who have and will answer God’s call to serve in the Lutheran Deaconess Community.
