Faculty Handbook § 2.5.2.7 Copyright Regulations
Valparaiso University conforms to all applicable laws, including U.S. Copyright Law, in connection with the use of copyrighted material in coursepacks, anthologies, classroom handouts, or electronic posting or circulation. Faculty need to remind themselves that while copying all or part of a work without obtaining copyright permission may appear to be an easy solution, such unauthorized copying reproduction violates the rights of the author or publisher of the copyrighted work. Faculty are expected to obtain course materials legally by acquiring the necessary written copyright permissions. In case of lawsuits and complaints, faculty members ignoring guidelines for obtaining permission or violating the copyright law will not be supported by the University.
