My
name is Chris Frechette and I was born on March 2, 1989 in Chicago.
I grew up in Hammond, Indiana and attended St. John the Baptist Catholic
School from preschool through third grade. My family moved to Portage,
Indiana in 1998 where I attended Kyle Elementary School, Willowcreek
Middle School, and Portage High School.
Over the years
I have had many different hobbies and was involved with several various
activities. I have played soccer, taken part in the Civil Air Patrol
Cadet program, trained in Shotokan Karate and Tae Kwon Do, and played
on a sponsored team in a competitive online gaming league. Currently,
I like to spend most of my free time with my friends. My favorite
hobbies include lifting weights at the gym, golf, basketball, and
poker.
This summer, I have been
working in Valparaiso University’s library, the Christopher
Center. The program I’m working for is a librarian internship.
This internship has taught me about much of the behind-the-scenes
action in the library. It has also helped me to dispel any stereotypes
associated with librarians that I have had. Overall, this has been
a great experience and I have learned many skills that I can take
with me to college and any time in the future that I use a library.
This fall, I will be attending
DePaul University in Chicago to pursue a degree in Information Technology
with a minor in Business Management. I also plan to continue my education
to pursue an MBA. I hope to someday work in upper management. I enjoy
working with people and I am really looking forward to going to school
in the heart of Chicago. As I grow up, life gets more and more interesting.
Hopefully, that trend will never end.
